LARWOOD, HAROLD, WITH KEVIN PERKINS - The Larwood Story - signed copy A Cricketer's Autobiography

Title: The Larwood Story - signed copy A Cricketer's Autobiography
Description: W.H Allen, London, 1965. Hardcover, octavo; black boards with gilt spine titling; 232pp., monochrome plates. Harold Larwood's signature tipped in on title page. Minor wear; offsetting to endpapers and text block edges browned and spotted. Illustrated green dustwrapper browned and rubbed on rear panel; scraped and worn edges especially at spine panel extremities and corners; some creasing. Very good in good dustwrapper now protected in archival film with white paper backing. When Larwood returned to his native Nottingham after the famous series he refused to discuss the bodyline affair. A.W. Carr, the Notts captain, said at the time. "If ever Larwood tells the full story, it will be amazing." The bowler waited over thirty years to do so, until after he had finished his career and had moved, tellingly, to Australia.
