Title: The Wheat and Dairy Free Cookbook
Description: Ebury Press. 2002. (ISBN: 9780091888930). Hardback, 0.5 x 7.8 x 10.0 inches. Hardback with dustjacket - 2002 - good condition, Ted Smart edition. Over 100 Sensational Recipes from the Stamp Collection. 100 delicious wheat-, dairy-, salt- and sugar-free recipes designed for people suffering from allergies and intolerances. Terence Stamp launched the "Stamp Collection" for people like himself who suffer from food intolerances. This cookbook of easy recipes will appeal to anyone who values a pure, additive-free diet as a way of improving health. Having just found out that I'm intolerant to wheat and cow's milk, I bought this book alongside a couple of other special diet cookery books and found this one to have the most interesting and tasty recipes (and the tempting food photography in the book made the food feel much less 'clinical and boring' than the others). I was expecting there to be no cheese, milk, yogurt or cream in any of the recipes, but in fact a good deal of the recipes do contain these ingredients (but the source is always goat or sheep products rather than from a cow). There are lots of recipes for things that I thought would be off the menu for me, such as chocolate cake and muffins, and many of these are made possible because instead of normal wheat flour they contain a special non-wheat flour blend (sold by Terence Stamp, strangely enough, although you could substitute it for other brands). Well worth buying if you are able to eat goat or sheep products, but if you're not (or if you can't eat gluten), there's far fewer recipes that would be suitable for you. Used: Acceptable.
