So far, I followed basic rules on weaning from general literature but wanted a dedicated cook book with lots of recepies to ensure a balanced and varied diet, age permitting. I am delighted with the purchase of Catherine Atkinson's Real Food for Your Baby. There are numerous, not just a handfull of recepies per age group (groups raging from 4 months to a toddler age). Recepies are easy to prepare. All information in the book is easy to follow: there are symbols after each recepie to indicate whether a meal is suitable for freezing; all measures are in metric, imperial and american values, hence easy for a variety of readers to follow; there are fortnightly menus for first two age groups 'about four months' and 'about five months' to set a good routine; individual meals on menues are crossed referenced with relevant page numbers containing recepies. The information on feeding essentials, food hygiene, food preparation and storage is there and covered in brief but informative manner. There are no glossy or colour illustrations. Still, it is the best weaning book I found.
