He was one of the 18th century's most popular writers now largely passed into obscurity. His works contributed to the later concepts of both communism and republicanism. This is the revised 4th edition of an anthology of international treaties, it includes the Peace of Westphalia, that ended the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and brought peace to the Holy Roman Empire, and the Peace of Münster, a treaty between the States-General of Seven United Provinces (Netherlands) and the Spanish Crown marking the formal recognition of the independent Dutch Republic and the end of the Eighty Years' War.
