Contemporary blindstamped vellum, spine with ribbons (at top and foot small tears in hinges; corners sl. bumped). With engraved title in baroque style with 5 coats of arms and two full-length portraits (library stamp in lower corner). (ii: half-title), xxii pp. including full-page portrait of Pontanus engraved by J. V. Velde after Isac Isaxs; 72, 956, lxxii: 'Index Chrographicus' and 'Index Historicus' pp. With 3 other full-page portraits: Arnold van Egmond by J. Pontanus after H. Roghman, Karel van Egmond by Retter and Maarten van Rossum. And with 5 double-page maps and 4 double-page plans with charming narrow views at the top, by van Geelkercken. - Maps: Comitatus Zutphaniae and Tetrarchia ducatus Neomagensis, - Roremundensis, - Zutphaniensis, and - Arnhemiensis. - Plans with view: Nijmegen and Zutphen with folded margins, Arnhem and Harderwijk (no margins to the left and right). - Good complete copy, with only a very few brown spots in places and minor defects to the binding. - See Nijhof p. 70: "... later vertaald, en uitgegeven door Slichtenhorst- (platen) enigszins verkleind". .
