Description: Paris, Beauger & Cie, Aubert et Cie, Curmer, Delloye and Martinon, Beauger & Cie, Aubert et Cie, Curmer, Delloye and Martinon, 1841. Large 4to (33,5x27 cm). Contemporary halfleather, spine gilt (rubbed),; with leather cornerpieces (damaged); marbled endpapers. (ii: title with vignette by Daumier),96 pp. and 48 plates lithographed by J. Caloche Garneray & Cie. The plates are surrounded by different borders by C. Malapeau, printed in darkbrown, all with the mention "Édité par le Charivari". Also with 200 woodengravings in text. - Second edition, as scarce as the first edition of 1839. Interesting and scharming, however: 1) Many textleaves and almost all the plates with serious but small brown spots (1 plate with larger spot). 2) Unfortunately among the plates, 25 bound in oblong position have very short lower margins (cut to the text; 1 plate with loss of the name of the editor) . Gewicht/Weight: 1800 grs.
