Description: Bruxelles, Louis Hauman et Comp., 1831-1835 15 vols. complete. 12mo (15,5x10,5 cm). Contemporary darkgreen morocco, spine gilt and blindstamped in compartments, with ribbons; covers covered with marbled paper, marbled endpapers. - Many important 19th century French writers attributed to this series with unpublished contributions a.o. Chateaubriand, Delavigne, Halvy, Victor Hugo, Jacob,, Jules Janin, De Lamartine, La Rochefaucould, Nodier, Regnier, Eugne Sue, etc., edited at the same time by Ladvocat at Paris. "Contrefaon Belge", but of a smaller size, hard to find. In the last volume a large leaf (47x33 cm) with "fac-simile des signatures de tous ceux qui les ont apposes au bas de l'engagement original". (engagement to help the ruined editor Ladvocat). And also in the last volume a few contemporary press-cuttings added. With 2 illustrations: plan of a roulette table (vol. 10) and plan of a reading-room (vol. 9). - Nice complete series in nice interior condition in charming bindings. All the volumes with green ribbon-marker. Gewicht/Weight: 4000 grs.
