Folio, [444 x 278 mm.]. pp. frontispiece portrait of John Urry, engraved title showing Chaucer's tomb, engraved portrait of Chaucer, [32, life and testimonies of Chaucer], [18, preface and contents], 626, 81 [glossary], [1, errata]> engraved headings throughout the 'Tales'. Rebound in full calf to period style, some browning to outer margin of many pages, a few pages light browned all over. For all its minor faults, this is a nice wide-margined copy, probably Large Paper, and generally clean with a sympathetic binding.
