Title: Kinrande: Porcelain Dressed in Gold (Limited-Edition Boxed Catalogue) (English Edition)
Description: Jorge Welsh Research and Publishing. 2020, 1st Edition. (ISBN: 9780993506895). Hardcover. Book, English text.; Hardcover (in slipcase).; 23.5 x 29.7 cm.; 2.432 Kg.; 290 pages with 264 colour illustrations.; Limited-edition of 200 boxed catalogue copies.; Exibition catalogue.; Kinrande wares are a fascinating group of porcelains, embellished with designs in gold leaf on a monochrome ground. These wares were first made in the same Jingdezhen kilns that produced blue and white porcelain during the Jiajing period (1522-1566), although there is evidence that suggests their production continued in China, well into the reign of Wanli (1572-1620), and that they were also produced in Zhangzhou kilns in the Fujian province. This type of porcelain began to appear on international markets between the second half of the 16th and early 17th centuries. With illustrations of over 85 different kinrande pieces, of which 45 were included in our exhibition of the same name, presenting bowls, ewers, plates, saucers, dishes, vases and some of the rarest typologies, such as, a cup and stand, a tiered box and an incense burner, the catalogue focuses on kinrande wares and presents the most recent research undertaken on the subject. New/No Jacket.
