The most outstanding characteristics of Chen Yifei’ painting is the tranquility and stillness. His realistic painting style is infused with traditional Chinese aesthetics. In depicting the landscapes, rivers and lakes of southern China, or in portraying a beautiful female figure with vivid expression, the artist’ pursuit is clearly indicated: “To imbue the painting with a Chinese spirit by using western painting techniques”.
