With 32pp publisher's catalogue (April, 1889) bound in at end of second volume as called for. First published in 1868, Darwin's longest work was extensively revised for the second edition of 1875 which became the final text. It is especially notable for containing (in Chapter XXVII) the first statement of the author's provisional hypothesis of pangenesis.
