Description: Far House, Liss, Hampshire, 1974. Single leaf, A4, on laid paper, printed stationery of The Far House, Liss, written on both sides in Jepson's neat hand, in near fine state. Selwyn Jepson (1899-1989), intelligence office, author, playwright and broadcaster. During WWII he served with Special Operations Executive as a recruiting officer for Independent F Section headed by Buckmaster. He was responsible, in particular, for the recruitment of many of SOE's women agents, preferring them to men in working alone behind enemy lines. The Far House was built by Jepson, not far from Stodham House which became SOE training establishment STS3. Brian Sewell (1931-2015), noted art critic and son of composer Peter Warlock.
