Description: Macmillan,, 1923. 4to., Second Impression, on laid paper, with frontispiece (original tissue guard present) and plate by the author; pictorial green cloth gilt, gilt back, top lightly dust-soiled else a near fine copy. Published in the same month as the first edition. Hardy's great Arthurian verse drama is unusual among his works in that the two illustrations - 'Tintagel Castle' as frontispiece (repeated in gilt on front board) and the castle's 'Great Hall' - are the work of the author himself.
