Bright copy of the ninth James Bond novel, and the cause of the celebrated copyright dispute in which it was alleged that Fleming used the then-unfilmed screenplay as the basis for the novel. Subsequent editions include a credit to this effect. The film eventually appeared in 1965, directed by Terence Young and starring Sean Connery and Claudine Auger, with Anthony Dawson as Blofeld.
