Description: Faber,, 1949[-1952]. 2 vols., roy. 8vo., First Edition, with 24 fine coloured plates, 192 plates in monochrome (the majority with multiple images) and numerous illustrations and monograms in the text; original green/white speckled buckram, upper boards with gilt crest, gilt backs, yellow and gilt tops respectively, a near fine set in the dustwrapper (one wrapper price-clipped), the latter very lightly chafed at extremities. Complete sets of this standard reference are scarce in this condition.
