The standard reference. Nott's classic study was first published in 1936 with an introduction by Cecil Harcourt-Smith; this edition reprints the original in its entirety save that here the introduction is given by the author's wife. This UK edition is far more difficult to find than its US counterpart published by Scribner. Scarce in this condition.
