Description: Macmillan,, [1938]. 8vo., on laid paper, with an engraved portrait frontispiece and engraved title-vignette, some mild offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; original maroon cloth, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly browned at backstrip and rear panel. Knight's edition was first published (in two volumes) in 1897. The first single-volume edition was issued in 1924. A lovely copy of a most attractive edition. Scarce in this condition, especially in the dustwrapper.
