Meville (pseudonym of Saul Benjamin) provides insightful accounts of Lytton, Disraeli, Jerrold, Lover, Thackeray, Kingsley, Collins, Reade, Trollope, Whyte-Melville, Gaskell, Le Fanu, Kingsley, Oliphant, Payn, Besant and Black.
