Description: Edward Moxon,, 1851. 2 vols., 8vo., First Edition, with engraved portrait frontispieces (one original tissue guard present) and an engraved illustration and several full-page pedigrees in the text, frontispieces mildly damp-marked at margins (not affecting engraved images); attractively bound in contemporary half morocco, marbled boards, backs with five raised bands, all compartments ruled in blind, second and fourth compartments lettered in gilt, all other compartments tooled to a floral design, green endpapers, sprinkled edges, boards age-scuffed else a very good, bright, tight set. With both half-titles, the separately printed errata slip, and the advertisement leaf at end. The errata slip (for both volumes) is present in the first volume; Wise calls for it to be in the second. The engraved frontispieces depict Wordsworth (engraved by Skelton from Pickersgill) and Dora Wordsworth, Mrs Quillinan (Armytage from Gillies). The first full biography, by Wordsworth's nephew, and containing the first printing of many letters and several poems. Cornell 875; Wise IV, 6.
