A PRESENTATION COPY FROM THE AUTHOR TO HIS CLOSE FRIEND OLWEN CARADOC EVANS, WITH HIS INITIALLED HOLOGRAPH INSCRIPTION ON HALF-TITLE AND HER NEAT GREEN BOOKPLATE ON TITLE. Published in the same year as the first edition. Morton met Evans during a tour of Wales in the latter half of 1957. He was ostensibly collecting material for a feature commissioned by National Geographic magazine, but in the event it was never published. In the course of his research he struck up a friendship with one of his guides Olwen Caradoc, and the two remained regular correspondents for over twenty years.
