The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping, rubbing and edge wear. The front cover and spine have silver and blue lettering and the front cover is decorated with an architectural feature. There is one bump / dent to the rear foredge of the book cover. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown page, and a previous owner's inked notation on the front endpaper. "The novel Quo Vadis tells of a love that develops between a young Christian woman, Lygia (Ligia in Polish) , and Marcus Vinicius, a Roman patrician. It takes place in the city of Rome under the rule of emperor Nero, c. AD 64. Sienkiewicz studied the Roman Empire extensively before writing the novel, with the aim of getting historical details correct. Consequently, several historical figures appear in the book.
