B&W Illustrations; This copy has the three additional blank pages between the last text page and the endpaper, making this the second issue. (as per Sisson, page 72.) This book is in Very Good+ condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends and corners have some bumping, rubbing and very beginning fraying. The book covers have some rubbing, and the gilt lettering on the spine has dulled somewhat. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, though there is some toning / burning to pages 70 & 71 where a newspaper was used as a bookmark. All eight illustrations are included and are in bright, clean condition. "The novel's themes include masculinity and male friendship. London discusses various life experiences he has had with alcohol, and at widely different stages in his life. Key stages are his late teen years when he earned money as a sailor and later in life when he was a wealthy, successful writer. " (from Wikipedia). Very Good+ .
