The booklet covers are of medium cardstock covers that have been crimped to resemble the bark of a redwood tree and a string binding. There is some beginning edge wear and creasing to the corners of the booklet covers. The text pages are clean and bright. The front endpaper / frontispiece has a tear to the bottom punch hole. There is a previous owner's inked name and date on the front endpaper. "Born in 1853 to J. M. Hinman and Betsy Burlingame Hinman in Toulon, Illinois. Family came to California in 1853 where father was Methodist minister. Married Marcus Martin Shuey in 1877 (divorced in 1906). Lived in variety of places in California, working as school teacher, wrote poetry which was published in numerous magazines. Died in 1921." (from Calisphere). Very Good+ .
