While at Tech, he served as Assistant Academic Dean, Dean of Arts and Sciences, and Head of the History and Political Science Department. He taught a wide variety of courses, including his favorite, U. S. Constitutional Law. He was a professor emeritus. He received great satisfaction from writing, and published four books, including History of Arkansas Tech and The Days the Presidents Died.
