Wraps. pp.323 to 426.4to,,,'Americana' was a quarterly magazine of history, genealogy, heraldry and literature published by The American Historical Society. Each issue contained several well-researched articles of historical interest, as well as a number of family histories, or biographies, of noted Americans, each illustrated by quite elegant tissue-guarded steel engravings or photogravure plates. Our offering contains two articles: (1) 'The Beginnings of Prohibition (Illustrated)', by Lucius C. Hatch; and (2) 'Art and Literature in Lowell (Illustrated)', by Frederick W. Coburn. There are nine tissue-guarded steel engravings or photogravure plates of the subjects of the four genealogical articles or biographies. The Norton and Belden armorial crests adorn the front and rear covers, respectively. This copy has been de-accessioned from the Provincial Library of the Province of Manitoba, and carries their stamps in several places, plus a lbela affixed to the top left of the front cover; otherwise the contents are in unmarked excellent condition. The spine has been reinforced with clear tape and the covers show some wear. Ill.: engravings, b&w illustrats.
