This poem most likely relates to the proposed visit by King Lodewijk Napoleon (king of Holland 1806-1810, brother of Napoleon Bonaparte) to Friesland (Sneek and Leeuwarden) in 1808. A visit that never took place because it was cancelled by the king for unknown reasons.
