Detective Sergeant Alfred Stanley Rosher had been demoted by the Force and deserted by his wife - the result was frustration in a desk job, chaos at home and a classified ad for domestic help in the local paper. Oddly enough, on that same July day Mad Frankie Daly, who was setting up a job, also inserted a classified ad in the paper, designed to summon those selected for the enterprise and to warn others to stay clear. The result of this curious coincidence was three deaths and a deal of anguish, for when Mad Frankie saw Rosher's ad, his Irish whimsy was tickled, and he decided to provide his old enemy with a housekeeper with two children and use them to finish off Rosher. NOT EX LIB C3C. Fine/Very Good.
