On leaving the Army he pursued his education, eventually achieving the highest academic awards and becoming a respected advisor to many governments including the UK, Republic of Ireland, Kenya, Malaysia, Sudan, Tanzania and Sri Lanka. A fascinating and inspiring autobiography spanning 70 years and three continents and of how one man overcame poverty, social deprivation and a poor education to eventually succeed in all he chose to do. 14 illustrations.
