Some pages unopened, fore and lower edges uncut, age darkening to endpapers else very clean, tight and unmarked. Uniform with XVIII Century French Romances series edited by Vyvyan Holland. The first edition of 'Le Masque' bears the rubric Amsterdam, 1751, and it was reprinted in 1755 and 1782, and has not previously been translated into English.
