Zugleich Ergänzungstafeln zu dem Atlas der Ophthalmoskopie./Atlas of rare ophthalmoscopic conditions and supplementary plates to the Atlas of Ophthalmoscopy.(same author). Wiesbaden, Bergmann, 1900 - 1924, Issues 1 -9 in 9 original portfolio's (all published), containing 45 colour lithographic plates with explanatory text leaves. (Loose as issued), some of the portfolio's are brittle and have browned covers, some ties missing but the interiors are fine/good. All texts in German & English. One of the most important atlases on ophtalmology ever published, famous for the high quality of its lithographies and the exact rendering of the eye condition on a 10 times larger scale. In order to accomplish this the professor took up the study of oil painting and undoubtedly his severe quality demands led to a nearly unsurpassed quality in the colour printing by the company 'Kunstanstalt H. Stürtz in Würzberg'. Complete copies are rare in view of the long and complicated publication history, spanning nearly 30 years and interrupted by the First World War.
