Title: Miracula et beneficia SS. Rosario Virginis Matris devotis a deo opt. max. collata.
Description: .: Antverpiae ( Antwerpen), Ioannes Gallaeus excudebat, s.d. (after 1610), format small in-4°, 19 x 13,5 cm, suite of engravings consisting of a title page and 15 engravings. Bound in full calf, with triple gilt fillets on both covers, upper joint broken but holding (binding signed Rivière ). The finely engraved numbered plates depict multiple scenes of the Virgin Mary performing miracles, and with scenes with Dominican friars (plate 14 with a devil tempting a praying dominican priest). All the plates carry an engraved caption with a commentary text by Albertus de Castello, Our copy has a title page which differs from the 1610 edition. The 1610 edition is dedicated to Isabella, gouverness of The Netherlands. In our copy the dedication is changed to Charles, duke of Lorraine and Bar. This copy, bound by the London binder Rivière (signed) stems from the library of Edward Arnold from Doking (Surrey). It was sold in 1929 at a Sotheby's auction in London. Very fine copy. .
