Description: .: Roma, ca. 1870-1880, 3 albums uniformly bound in contemporary red cloth with leather spines, large gilt titles on front cover. Edges gilt. Some wear and loss of upper skin at the leather spines, but generally in fine/good condition. Album size : 64 x 50 cm !. [1] Album I ''Rome Monuments Antiques contains 28 albumine prints with views of Rome monuments such as Colosseo, Tempio de Vestan Arco di Constatino. [2] Album II .Rome Eglises - Palais - Fontaines -Vatican - Vues Intérieurs. Containes 32 pictures. [3] Album III. Rome Bustes et Sculptures 19 pictures. All pictures are mounted on thick light grey coloured board. Photo size is varies between ( 265 x 380 mm) & (285 x 370). & (180 x 235 ) Most of the pictures in album I & II are in the larger size. The album, was composed by a French collector (hence the titles on the binding) . All photographs have a manuscript caption in Italian, and either a number in the negative or a number and title in the nagative, underneath the picture. Picture nr. 3 in Album II has a blind stamp by Enrico Verzaschi. Item 12 in Album I has been identified as a Verzaschi print (Arco di Tito Vesp. - Getty collection). All other are anonymous. Very fine, impressive collection of late 19th c. Roma photographs, of the highest quality and in very fine condition.
