Bound in 18th c. mottled calf, covers with double gilt fillet, decorated gilt spine with red leather title label. Edges painted red. marbled endpapers (Apart from some damage at the top turn in; a fine binding). Very clean copy with some old waterdtains at some pages, . The title page has a paper restoration in the upper margin (no loss of text). With some contemporary underlinings and marginal noteds throughout. A very attractive copy of the first edition of this later work by Erasmus. USTC 635475. .
