Second enlarged edition of the autobiographical account of Jan Frans Vonck's part in the ''Brabantse Revolution''. This revolution in the Southern Netherlands, against the enlightened regime of the Austrian Emperor was finally brought to end by the invasion of the French revolutionary army. Before that end the Brabant Revolution had already changed in a counter-revolution aimed at restoring the old three tiers society. Its main proponent Vander Noot had defeated the revolutionary Vonck who had fled to Lille (France). He published this second edition of his defense in the year of his death. Bound before the title is a small contemporary handwritten note in French stating that this book is very rare because most copies were seized by the police of Vander Noot. .
