Original portfolio a bit worn and discoloured. The plates are loose ( as issued). The plates have a serpente with a printed caption and carry a number. For the year 1914 these numbers are 306 -> 342 ( missing are plates 310 , 311 , 326 , 327 , 348 )The text leaves are complete , index leaf included . This is the nearely complete year 1914, consisting of 4 text issues ( fascicules in French) and 42 plates of the prestigeous Brussels' periodical devoted to the art of the book. It covers the whole subject : typography, lettering , binding, illustration...Its pre-war publications (before 1914) are rightly famous for the beautiful typographical execution. The project , animated by Henri Liebrecht, could rely on the aid of the main Brussels printing houses, paper and ink suppliers. ( e.g. Imprimerie Goossens, établ. Malvaux ...). They published 4 issues per year ( fascicules ), accompanied by plates . With an article by Rémy Havermans on '' L'Esthétique Moderne en Imprimerie''. An article by George Rency on '' La Litterature Belge de Langue Française en 1913'' - very well illustrated with portraits.. .
