Smooth spine with gilt title. The plates numbered 87, 88, and 97 are missing. This is the third year of the prestigeous Brussels' periodical devoted to the art of the book. It covers the whole subject : typography, lettering , binding, illustration...Its pre-war publications (before 1914) are rightly famous for the beautiful typographical execution. The project , animated by Henri Liebrecht, could rely on the aid of the main Brussels printing houses, paper and ink suppliers. ( e.g. Imprimerie Goossens, établ. Malvaux ...). They published between 4 and 6 issues per year ( fascicules ), these issues were accompanied by plates ( many original lithographs ; specimen illustrations etc.) Some of the plates came in a separate portfolio. All the plates have a serpent protection leaf with a printed text and plate-number. In all 419 plates were published between 1907 ( year 1) and 1918 ( year 11) , together with 46 issues. After the war the quality declined and after 1930 allmost all of the illustrations were photomechanical. .
