A rare book which unites the literary works of the eccentric 19th-c. Belgian painter Wiertz, which consist mainly of critical essays on the Belgian "Salon" exhibitions of 1842 and 1851; a study on Rubens and one on the Flemish School and a technical study on painting. The book is also important because of the 2 original photographs of Fierlants (see: "E.Fierlands 1819-1869" by S.F.Joseph and T.Schwilden p.170, bibliography F.12). .
