Bound in before the frontispiece portrait of L. Double is a 2 pp autograph letter from Double to (most probably) the printer Ch. Noblet. Very fine copy allthough some of the serpents have foxing spots. Nicely illustrated description of the art collection of Lucien Double, with e.g. interpretation engravings by Jacquemart and Flameny. The Double collection was one of those typical ecclectic 19th c. collection with objects ranging from Sèvre porcelain, Beauvais tapestry , mediaeval weaponry to paintings by Gonzales Coques , Rembrandt (self portrait) , Frans Hals ( a small portrait of Willem van Heythuysen)... .
