Description: Antverpiae ( Antwerpen ) , Ex Officina Christophori Plantini, 1567, in-8°, (157 x 102 mm), 495 pp + (1)(bl) + (8)nn pp (index), complete as colleted in Voet N° 1034 X . Bound in (18th c. ?) full calf, edges sprinkled red, title ( ''Plantin'') in gilt on spine , This title is a later addition to replace a missing label, number 35 in white wash on spine. There are no library markings on the inside of the book. Top of title page with an old illegible note. Binding with some use , one small worm gallery in lower margin of lower cover, interior fine. ( USTC 405368 ; Voet 1034 Vol. X). Plantin reprinted the 1561 Lyons edition by Guillaume Rouillé of the Corpus Iuris Civilis, edited by the French lawyers Ludovicus Russardus ( Roussart ) and Franciscus Duarenius ( Douaren). The work consists of 12 vols. in-8°. Vol. I-VII - the Digesta or Pandectae ; Vol. VIII - IX - the Codicis ; Vol X Novellae Constitutiones [ our present volume]. Vol. XI - XII - Institutiones and general index. It remains doubtful if Plantin ever paid copyright for this reprint ( see Voet). .
