A few faint foxing spots at the fly leaves but a very fine copy. Exhaustive study on the invention and introduction of the steam turbine by Charles Parsons ( 1854 - 1931). Apart from their use to drive electrical generators great attention is also given as a new engine for marine transport. Parsons made his invention in 1884 and founded in 1889 his own company to produce the turbines. This company still lives on in Newcastle and is now part of the German Siemens company. .
