Printed contract or deed of partnership of a life insurance and annuity company with manuscript additions of the personal shareholders' contract of Martinus van der Vloet (as acting partner) for Carolus Nicolaas Vincken (taking a share). The '' Nederlandse Lijfrenten Compagnie'' , alias the '' Nederlandse Lijfrenten Societeit '' , alias the '' Generale Prebenden Compagnie '' was founded by Johannes van der Heij in 1768. He merged several other companies under the new name '' Ultimatum est''. The manuscript leaves at the end consist of two separate documents. [1] A deed dated January 19th 1769 whereby Carolus Nicolaas Vincken ( born in Breda 27 March 1704) takes two shares ( prebendes). [2] The original share certificate, sealed and duly signed by the board of directors. 18th century printed statute with important manuscript additions of a deed of partnership in an insurance and annuity shareholder company. We known from a recently published doctoral thesis ( Hendrik Martijn Punt - Het Vennootschapsrecht van Holland , 2010, Leiden University , ISBN 9879013079753) that the workings of the company were the subject in 1779 of a law suit. From this court case we learn that the founder Johannes van der Heij had fled to Kleve ( Germany) after embezzling 70.000 fl. Extremely rare and very early document illustrating the emergence of corporate ownership in 18th c. Western Europe. ( dutch ;18th ; history ;economical ;commercial ;law ;insurance ; partnership ). .
