Description: .: München, im Verlage der lithographischen Kunstanstalt bey der Feyertags-Schule, 1817, oblong format, in-folio, 30 x 42 cm, (4)nn pp (including a lithographic title) + iv pp + 36 pp + 6 lithographic plates. Bound in contemporary half cloth with boards covered with marbled paper . Binding with some use and worn at extremeties, inside some pages are a bit dustsoiled. Early example of a book illustrated by lithography. The stones were worked by Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl (1804-1877) according to Winkler - die Frühzeit der Deutschen Lithographie ( item 293 nrs4-10). Hanfstaengl was at that time 13 years old. Upon publication the depositors received also a lithographed cover to the book which is absent in a our copy. (See note in Winkler item 293-nr.11). .
