(lithographs , engravings ), contemporary full red leather binding, raised gilt spine. Covers and spine with gilt decoration in Romantic style. Marbled edges and end papers. Binding with some use at extremities but a very fine copy with spotless interior. Important critique of the Brussels Salon of 1836. The book is also remarkable for its illustrations as this was the first attempt in Belgium to revive the art of engraving to illustrate a book.
