Description: .: Roma, Nella Stamperia della Camera Apostolica, appresso Il Bernabo, 1761, in-4°, 30 x 22 cm, (8)nn pp (title with engraved papal coat of arms) + 486 pp + (18)nn pp (scorrezioni, index, colophon) , bound in contemporary full vellum, two leather labels on smooth spine, edges painted blue, with small ex-libris stamp of Gust. C. Galletti Flor. on title, two tipped on printed ex-libris on first paste down. Vellum of binding a bit soiled, first pages (pp 1-4) with some foxing spots, overall still a fine copy. The author's real name was Felice Figliucci ( Siena 1518 - 1595). For his religious works he used the name Alessio. This is the last edition of the Roman Catechism in his Italian translation. He was a great advocate for the use of the ''lingua volgare''. The first edition appeared in 1567. Rare large paper copy in a contemporary full vellum binding. .
