Title: Parabole du Débiteur impitoyable - Parable of the unmerciful servant. Suite of 4 engravings (Antwerp ? ca. 1580 - 1650 ?)
Description: .: 12. S.l. s.d. ( Antwerp ca. 1600 ?), 4 engravings 195 x 245 mm, with large margins (paper size is 245 x 315 mm) , bound in marbled boards with small leather label on spine (binding signed Lobstein-Laurenchet). We have not been able to identify these prints. ( not by Cornelis Cort). The first print where the servant is brought before the king has the typical manierist renaissance setting with in the background an open porch leading to some distant buildings. The king is seated on the right, on a throne, behind a large table containing two books and an open ink box and a very small box with the letter ''C'' on the lid. (Collaert ?). This plate is numbered '' 1'' and has the caption '' Dominus servo suo debitum decies mille Talentorum condonat''.. .
