Cigognara 399. Rare 18th-century French treatise on architecture, illustrated throughout with woodcuts rather than the usual copper plate engravings. The author gives much attention to the relation between the design and its surroundings. On pages 116-128 the architects proposes a sweeping plan to change the heart of Metz by the construction of a large square surrounded by public buildings. Text in French. (en français).
