First edition of the history of the Fieschi conspiracy which took place in 1547 in Genova. Count Luigi de Fieschi tried to dislodge the regime of Andrea Doria. The coup failed but Andrea's nephew Giannettino was killed in the attempt. The event inspired cardinal de Retz and Friedrich Schiller. The author (Sarzana 1590 - 1640) was once a Jesuit and served as secretary to cardinal Alessandro d'Este. The book bears no printer's name but may have been published by the Plantin-Moretus press.
