Bound in contemporary full leather, raised and gilt decorated spine, unobtrusive stamp on title page. Binding worn, lower joint split over 15 cm, corners and headcaps with some loss of leather, some browning, notwithstanding these defects still an acceptable copy of a rare book. Most pages are printed in 2 columns, some even in 3. The indexes are remarkable. About the theological controversy between the Jesuits and the Dominicans, 1581-1611, by the Dominican Hyacinthe Serry under a pseudonym (the Inquisition had forbidden discussion of efficacious grace). The '' Congragatio de Auxiliis '' was a commission established by Pope Clement VIII to settle the controversy. This edition is rare. The usual bibliographies (e.g. Catholic Encyclopedia) refer to a Leuven edition of 1700. .
