Later half leather binding with dark marbled boards, marbled edges and endpapers, gilt title and decorations on smooth back, apart from the usual sporadic small stains some slight browning at some pages and a small tear in the map a very nice copy. Pontoppidan was the bishop of Bergen in Norway. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences at Copenhagen. Very handsome copy of this well illustrated standard work on Norway. .
