Description: .: Paris, Galliot du Pré, 1558, in-8°, 17 x 11 cm, (16)pp + (304)pp (numbered 1-152) + (1)(printer's mark), completely ruled throughout, contemporary full leather, gilt filet and five floral ornements on both covers, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Handsome and crisp copy of the second edition of this legend which deals with the history of the County of Flanders and its relation with its French kings. The first edition dates from 1522 (Graesse IV 147). Our edition was printed by Galliot du Pré, rightly famous for his beautiful typography, which is even enhanced here by the fine ruling.
